diagnosing a diesel particulate filter differential pressure sensor 1: check voltage supply at plug. 2: check hoses to DPF from the sensor for leaks. 3: with the sensor connected, apply
The pressure sensor described underneath is mainly used to monitor the soot loading of a particulate filter on a diesel engine or gas turbine. The signal of the sensor is not sufficient to determine an optimized timing for regeneration of the DPF. It is part of a soot loading model that should be calculated permanently by the ECU. Apparently this is what happens to a cracked sensor. 1. 2008 F-250 4x4 XLT CC shortbed/193,000 miles. Code P2452 may appear on some Ford vehicles. Image credit: Wikimedia. Code P2452 may appear on some Ford vehicles. On a 2008 Ford F-250 XL 6.4L, V8, for example, this DTC is described as, “The test fails when the diesel particulate filter pressure sensor signal value at idle is less than 0.15 kPa (0.022 psi).
In total this has cost me £800 for map £325 for 3 sensors, one EGT sensor being the wrong one ordered. And £40 to my local mechanic for fitting the two egt sensors. So that £1165 excluding travelling 110 mile round trip 3x to customcode. just my thoughts to the people thinking about getting a DPF delete The differential pressure measurement is used to calculate the soot load. If the open and closed loop values are widely different then that woud indicate a problem somewhere. Your numbers are further apart than I would expect on my car. DPF_LOAD is based on trhe differential pressure. DPF_SOOT is calculated.

Coming from a Mondeo MK5, I half expected the S-Max to give me some useful info on DPF_Load & DPF_Soot, however it can only give me the weight of soot. I have no idea what is good, bad or indifferent. At least it could give me the Differential Pressure, but again, not sure if the figure is telling me the DP sensor is blocked.

Seems that once it reaches that it stopped trying to regen. I got the car upto temperature and then reset the values and drove off on a steady run, the exhaust I've replaced the hoses from the DPF to the DPS as they were shot, cleared the code but within days its back, now this is where things become interesting, I checked the differential pressure over the DPF with FORScan and my reading was 0.0kpa regardless of rpms ect, so I replaced it with an honestly cheap aftermarket part, which gave me a brief

Vehicle owners normally bypass the DPF sensor as part of the process of deleting the DPF system. Once you remove the DPF system, the DPF sensor will no longer be doing anything. However, bypassing the DPF sensor alone doesn’t provide any advantage. A failing DPF pressure sensor will activate the Check Engine light.
This is a short video to help any fellow GT TDI mk5 owners locate their MAP sensor. Which is not always easy to find. I hope this helps, hit the like button

EGR Temperature Sensor - Located on Exhaust Manifold at exit of cylinder 4. Part#: 12634536 Differential Pressure Sensor (DPF Pressure Sensor) - A single sensor module that inserts at two points (pre-DPF and post-DPF) and measures the difference in pressure between the two points to identify when a re-gen of the DPF is necessary. Part#: 55570092
If a P2456 is stored, the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected a voltage input signal from the circuit of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) pressure sensor known as A, that is erratic or intermittent. P2456 is used exclusively in diesel equipped vehicles. DPF systems are designed to remove ninety-percent of carbon particles (soot
There seem to be two possibilities -. the vapouriser nozzle /glowplug, has blocked /failed. the hoses for the Pressure Differential switch are perforated /split. I checked for the pressure differential readings and they seemed to be either 0.0 or 0.1 at idle and as the revs rose gently.

One of the DPF sensors on the front section of the exhaust could quite easily have been damaged or come adrift when the rest of the exhaust was changed. I'm not familiar with that engine but there should be a pressure sensor on either side of the DPF (metal tubes leading to the actual sensors) and some electrical temperature sensors.
I would recommend all owners of a Ford car to install Forscan on their computers or download the app as it really gives you some tools for diagnosing/fixing problems yourself. 2. Added Wynn's DPF cleaner to fuel tank and took car for a run at high revs down the motorway. I recorded live DPF pressure sensor and it reached 40kPa at one point.
here we Diagnose and repair the DPF on this car by cleaning it and replacing the pressure sensor
